How to configure LAN wired and wireless for the simultaneous operationPosted: 27 Jan 2012 Tags: How to configure LAN wired and wireless for the simultaneous operation How configure LAN wired and wireless for the simultaneous operation Question: I use a windows XP-based Lenovo thinkpad. I want to establish an autonomous network so that I can connect my hardware for debugging. At the same time, I want to be able to access the corporate network with the wireless interface. My autonomous system consists of a router from Belkin which is to act as a DHCP server, my laptop connected to a port on the router and my equipment test connected to another port on the router. My wireless interface is configured to connect to the corporate network. With interface wireless and ethernet (wired) interface enabled, when I do an ip config, I see that the devices get IP address corresponding to the subnets that they connect to i.e ethernet port Gets a 192.168.x.x then the interface shows 172.x.x.x IP wireless IP address. But I am not able to ping or access to all sites on the internet, I am not able to ping the Belkin router the autonomous network. However, if I go under network connections and turn off the ethernet lan, internet access connection and my corporate network. Similarly, if I turn off the wireless connection and enable the ethernet connection, so I am able to ping the router only and not my test equipment connected on the same subnet. If I configure the ethernet (wired) network interface to use a static IP address pool of IP router Belkiin (which also serves DHCP server) and define the Belkin router IP as the gateway, can I access all the other devices connected on the local subnet if and only if the wireless interface is disabled. Search for networks order is defined as Ethernet wireless and then. For my application, I need two interfaces to be active at the same time, as explained at the beginning. Appreciate any suggestions. Thank you. Answer: Hello The question you posted would be most suited to the TechNet community.
